How to convert active to passive subwoofer?
I have an active subwoofer. I just bought a new receiver. The new receiver has no prior departure sub. Is there any way to turn my active subwoofer to connect to the passive output? Will I lose sound quality? Would it damage my sub somehow? I'm not very experienced with the receivers, and saw the subwoofer in the back but did not know it was for the multichannel analog audio. The model number for the receiver is Onkyo HT-R340. The submarine is 5kw Onkyo Onkyo SKW-420 This one sub-420 had a typographical error
To convert their assets to liabilities, and would remove the amplifier integrated into the hook and subwoofer amplifier directly to your receiver (assuming the receiver has an integrated subwoofer amplifier). However, you may be able to do something simple. If your active subwoofer has speaker-level inputs, simply connect the son of left and right speakers to the left and right input level of your subwoofer active and run the son of ordinary speakers speakers. The subwoofer is picking up signals from subwoofer cable! Then do not go and open the subwoofer.
