Microphone Mic Boom

Can someone please recommend a low cost shotgun microphone? Husband wants a microphone for Christmas?

Or, should I buy something else a microphone boom to be better? Less than $ 250.

Audio Technica ATR55 I have two guns he had in Best Buy $ 50 each. They are nice, but certainly Not the best quality that can be achieved. Sennheiser makes some very good, but expensive. My advice is that the best microphones you can afford. Shakey video forgive people who Shakey forgive no audio. Check B & H Photo and Video. They have good prices and most models for you to compare and make the right decision. Also ask your husband if he has a preference, some of our very particular about our equipment, and might prefer a gift certificate for the right model instead of a patient.
