Speaker to buy, powered or run with amp?
which is the best to buy, powered speaker or Normal speakers with amplifiers/? need them for Mobile DJ business
If you can afford them, go with powered. They are a bit heavier than non-powered but it is worth it. They are easier to hook up and you don’t have to lug around a separate amp. You don’t have to worry as much about blowing the speakers either – the powered speakers have protection circuits built in.
The main benefit is that most of them sound awesome. I have been using powered speakers for over 10 years. JBL, Mackie, QSC are the brands to look at if your budget is good. If you don’t have a lot of money, check out Behringer.
I have a pair of QSC K12′s and a KSUB – the sound is great and it easily fits in a car.
