How can you make wired speakers wireless?
I have a 5.1 surround sound system, and all of my speakers are wired directly to my receiver. Is there anyway to make my rear 2 speakers wireless? I.E. They plug into some kind of transmitter (and the transmitter plugs into the wall for power), and there is a receiver plugged into the back of my 5.1 audio receiver?
I use the Rocketfish Universal Rear Speaker Kit. It is exactly how you describe. First, I attach a transmitter to the rear speaker terminals on my a/v receiver. Then I connect the rear speakers to the Rocketfish receiver unit in the back of the room. The Rocketfish requires a power outlet not only for the receiver unit, but also for the sender unit.
I really like this product. At just over $100 it’s a bit expensive, but it works perfectly. I have experienced no delay, loss of signal, intereference, buzzing, etc. It has worked perfectly since I’ve had it. The only complaint I could think of has to do with its power. The unit is limited to about 25 watts/channel. This isn’t a problem with my rear speakers, but it might be with yours.
